Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Kettering is recruiting a Verification Assurance Officer (Central) to join a new team and tackle fraud at the frontline. The role focuses on interviewing claimants and collaborating with Jobcentre colleagues face to face, on-site at multiple centres.

The VAO will strengthen verification controls, conduct robust interviews, and support education on customer responsibilities. The role requires frequent site travel and is full-time and permanent.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to interview effectively.
• Understanding of fraud risks and verification processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Jobcentre colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and follow-up evidence interviews with claimants.
• Verify documents for ID, housing costs, and childcare elements of Universal Credit.
• Lead customer education sessions with Jobcentre colleagues.
• Provide regular feedback on fraud trends to analysts and risk teams.
• Maintain accurate management information as directed.
