Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations. The role includes performing inspections, daily operation, waste monitoring, and basic maintenance to ensure efficient, compliant site activity.

Candidates should demonstrate strong safety practices, reliability, and professional conduct with customers and team members in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior heavy equipment operation experience.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Professional, courteous conduct toward customers and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Operate equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, loader) safely and efficiently.
• Monitor waste materials for unacceptable content.
• Perform minor maintenance and document reports; escalate major repairs.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required forms.
• Follow all safety policies; keep the shop clean and organized.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned.
