Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a qualified Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate a range of heavy machinery at recycling facilities, landfills, or transfer stations. The role includes pre/post-operation inspections, monitoring for unacceptable waste, and performing minor servicing with escalation to the Maintenance Shop as needed.

You will be responsible for keeping equipment operational, adhering to safety standards, and helping maintain an orderly work area at the end of shifts.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader) safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and document results.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and report repairs to supervisor.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and coordinate with Maintenance Shop.
• Maintain a clean, safe shop area and follow all safety policies.
