Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil in a safe, efficient manner in accordance with company policy.

The role includes inspecting equipment, performing minor services, documenting reports, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment at shift end. Prior heavy equipment experience and OSHA-site familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor servicing and document Equipment Condition Reports; report repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, serviced shop at the end of each shift and follow all safety policies.
