Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Asset Protection/Customer Service team member at our Michigan stores. You will actively deter theft, assist customers, and respond to alarms while maintaining safety and order on the sales floor.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years in service or protection, strong communication skills, and the ability to move throughout the store as needed. This role supports a safe shopping environment and protects our team and customers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of customer service or asset protection experience.
• Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to actively move throughout work area for long periods.
• Ability to respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
• Ability to learn and apply negotiation and de-escalation techniques.
• Knowledge of product locations to direct customers.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
• Prevent theft through an active presence and engagement with customers entering and exiting.
• Respond to alerts urgently to check receipts, recover unpaid merchandise, and resolve alarms.
• Reduce store disruption following de-escalation and negotiation techniques.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm activity incidents.
