Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a frontline Asset Protection Team Member to deter theft and ensure safety at store entry and exit points. You will engage with customers, verify receipts when needed, and act quickly to resolve safety concerns.

The role emphasizes community safety, standard operating procedures, and using technology to log incidents. The position requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience preferred.
• Must communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to move extensively within the store environment.
• Ability to respond quickly and urgently to alerts.
• Ability to learn and use technology solutions to document incidents.
• Ability to apply negotiation and de-escalation techniques.
• Knowledge of product locations to direct customers.
• Ability to work with others in resolving conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
• Prevent theft through an active presence and engagement with customers entering and exiting.
• Respond to alerts urgently to check receipts, recover unpaid merchandise, and resolve alarms.
• Reduce store disruption following de-escalation techniques.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm activity incidents.
