Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking a Retail Associate for Marshalls in Newton, NJ. You will promote an excellent customer experience, supervise front-of-store Associates, and ensure courteous service while driving loyalty programs.

The role emphasizes training, store-wide tasks, and maintaining a clean, organized environment. Qualifications include at least 1 year in retail with 6 months of leadership experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year retail experience and 6 months leadership experience.
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of adapting to changes and unexpected situations.
• Ability to train others and mentor Associates.

Responsibilities

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
• Takes an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front end principles
• Trains and coaches Associates on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs
• Assigns registers, supports and responds to POS coverage needs, and coordinates breaks for all Associates
• Addresses customer concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience
• Ensures tasks are aligned with store plan and priorities
• Communicates with management and Associates about priorities and progress
• Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback
• Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
• Ensures adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Promotes credit and loyalty programs
• Supports shrink reduction goals
• Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
• Other duties as assigned
