Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Service Coordinator to ensure a high-quality customer shopping experience by leading and supporting front-end operations. You will coordinate checkout flow, maintain front-end cleanliness, and assign work for cashiers and service desk teams to meet productivity and service goals.

You will coach, manage labor, resolve customer issues, and drive front-end accountability. The role includes training team members, mentoring, and acting as SME for market programs and company

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum.
• Ability to operate cash register system and financial services equipment.
• Strong communication, customer orientation, and organization.
• Ability to multi-task and work with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts.
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving monitoring and control of shrink and financial business outcomes within areas of responsibility.
• Proactively escalate concerns to leadership as they arise.
• Champion participation in community programs. Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring.
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion.
