Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Service Coordinator to ensure a high-quality shopping experience by leading front-end operations, coordinating checkout flow, and training/captioning work for cashiers, service desk, and courtesy team members. The role emphasizes coaching, labor utilization, and advance resolution of customer issues to drive satisfaction and efficiency.

You will coordinate store front-end activities, supervise handoffs between shifts, and uphold standards while promoting community engagement

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving the monitoring and control of shrink and financial business outcomes within areas of responsibility. Proactively escalate concerns to leadership as they arise
• Champion participation in community programs. Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group (TMRG) engagement
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion
