Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Service Coordinator to lead and support front-end operations, ensuring a high-quality customer shopping experience. You will coordinate checkout flow, maintain front-end standards, and assign work to cashiers and courtesy team members to meet productivity and service expectations.

In this role you will coach team members, train on-the-job, and act as a subject matter expert for market programs and company pilots.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (includes curriculums for Cashier, Service Desk, and Courtesy Team).
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment.
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency.
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• This position may require lifting and related physical activity.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts.
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.
• Coordinate actions involving monitoring and control of shrink and financial outcomes; escalate concerns to leadership.
• Champion participation in community programs; engage team member resource groups.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members within their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job training and mentoring for team members.
• Serve as SME for market programs, pilots, and training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members in collaboration with the team leader and ensure completion.
