Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Indiana is seeking a Service Coordinator to lead and support front-end operations, ensuring a high-quality customer shopping experience.

The role coordinates checkout flow, maintains front-end standards, and assigns work to cashiers, service desk, and courtesy team members to meet productivity and service goals. You’ll coach and monitor labor utilization, resolve customer issues, and drive front-end performance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (Cashier, Service Desk, Courtesy Team)
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities
• Lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling; bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting as needed
• Weight/frequency varies with shift and staffing

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present
• Coordinate and drive actions involving monitoring and control of shrink and financial outcomes; escalate concerns
• Champion participation in community programs; engage team member resources
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care
• On-the-job training and mentoring of team members
• Serve as SME for market programs, pilots, and development/training programs
• Assign tasks to team members with the team leader and ensure completion
