Job summary

Meijer is hiring a Service Coordinator to lead front-end operations, coach cashiers and the courtesy team, and ensure a high-quality checkout experience. You’ll coordinate tasks, monitor shrink and financial outcomes, and drive customer satisfaction.

You’ll work closely with leadership, provide on-the-job training, and support community programs through a team-oriented environment, with emphasis on service excellence and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (includes curriculums for Cashier, Service Desk, and Courtesy Team).
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment.
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency.
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• This position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts.
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving monitor and control of shrink and financial outcomes.
• Proactively elevate concerns to leadership as they arise.
• Champion participation in community programs and engage with TMRG.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members within their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job training and mentoring for team members.
• Serve as SME for market programs, pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members with the team leader and follow up on completion.
