Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement, coaching, and development for team members across the span of care. You will oversee onboarding, training, and performance discussions while directing Leads and Team Leaders toward meeting area operations and financial goals.

You will lead initiatives to improve processes, uphold safety standards, and foster an inclusive Meijer culture across the store, ensuring quality customer experiences and strong financial results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication with team members and leadership.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical data to drive decisions.
• Commitment to safety and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conduct candid performance discussions and ensure Meijer standards.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Drive safety/compliance and manage store condition and procedures.
• Coach Leads and Team Leaders in daily work assignments and training needs.
