Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to oversee team engagement and operational performance across a span of care. You will drive onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning while directing Leads and Team Leaders and owning area budgets and forecasts.

You will ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to Meijer standards, while identifying talent and building a diversified pipeline to support store staffing and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Committed to working safely at all times.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching for success.

• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budget items in the P&L.
