Meijer is opening a new store in Glen Carbon/Edwardsville, IL and seeks a Customer Service / Front End Manager to lead the team from day one, driving guest service and front-end operations during the launch.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 4+ years in retail or customer service, and proven leadership. You’ll coach, manage budgets, ensure safety and compliance, and deliver industry-leading service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
• Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.
• A thorough understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising which leads to meeting the needs of our customers/community and gaining sales and market share.
• A strong business acumen.
• An innovative attitude to help Meijer set the industry standard.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development with coaching and feedback.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conducts candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budget items in the P&L.
• Drives safety and compliance and maintains store conditions.
• Directs Leaders and Leads in assigning daily work and training needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
