We are seeking an engaged General Merchandise Dept Manager who will lead a team, drive onboarding, training, and development across the span of care, and manage area operations and finances for strong performance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to support decision making.
• Commitment to safety and a culture of working safely at all times.
• Strong business acumen and innovative thinking to drive growth.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training, development, and coaching.
• Identify talent and support staffing through career discussions and pipeline planning.
• Lead candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and grow talent within the organization.
• Oversee area operations and financial results to maximize sales and productivity, owning budget items.
• Drive safety, compliance, and store condition management; ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Guide Team Leaders and Leads with daily work and training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
