Job summary

Cavender’s Amarillo is seeking a Head Cashier to lead the front-end and deliver Best of the WEST service, greeting customers, processing transactions, and modeling company standards.

You will train cashiers, support daily store operations, maintain a clean, stocked sales floor, and ensure accuracy of merchandise and pricing while upholding safety policies.

This role requires flexible availability, strong communication, and the ability to read English and work with a team to support store goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to operate a Point of Sale system and handle cash/electronic transactions.
• Ability to train and coach associates while promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Ability to regularly lift, move, and position merchandise throughout the work shift.
• Ability to comprehend basic instructions, interpret documents, and apply them to daily tasks.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Associate must be able to read and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and deliver Best of the WEST customer service.
• Accurately and efficiently process customer purchases, returns, exchanges, and other POS transactions.
• Ensure merchandise accuracy by verifying items and following procedures.
• Promote store programs, store promotions, and suggest complementary merchandise.
• Train, coach, and support new and existing cashiers on POS procedures and company policies.
• Assist store leadership by monitoring front-end operations and resolving customer concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
• Ensure merchandise is displayed and stocked per company standards.
• Remain attentive to store safety and report concerns promptly.
• Report to work on time and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Assist with merchandising updates and price changes.
• Any other duties as assigned.
