Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a fast-paced front-end team and mentor Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks. You will provide exceptional customer service, supervise breaks, and help with hiring and training to maintain store standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, customer focus, and multi-tasking in a busy grocery environment, with opportunities for growth and a strong emphasis on team culture.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of cashiering experience plus leadership training.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor and role model behavior with customers.
• Ability to operate front-end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
• Good communication and teamwork; able to multi-task and stay organized.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and handle carts and supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent customer service by guiding cashiers and clerks at registers.
• Address customer assistance issues at the register when they arise.
• Oversee store sweeps, cash register supplies, and restroom/parking lot cleanliness.
• Monitor exit doors for security and loss prevention.
• Schedule and supervise meal/rest breaks per policy and state law.
• Assist in hiring and training new cashiers and disciplinary steps when necessary.
