Job summary

MidLantic Urology is seeking a Patient Service Representative I to ensure an exemplary patient experience by phone or in person. You will greet patients, register, verify insurance, collect balances, schedule appointments, and support the intake and checkout processes with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced medical office environment. Prior medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college work preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ customer service experience required.
• Experience in a medical office; urology preferred.
• Basic knowledge of CPT/procedure coding and ICD-10 coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors, in person or by phone.
• Manage front desk operations and keep the area organized.
• Register new patients and update demographics, including insurance information.
• Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
• Obtain referrals and authorizations when required.
• Scan and file medical records; process incoming documents.
• Schedule follow-up services and appointments; inform clinical staff of arrivals.
• Respond to patient inquiries with courtesy and professionalism.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI and protect data security.
