Job summary

MidLantic Urology is seeking a Patient Service Representative I to deliver excellent customer service by phone or in person. The role coordinates clerical tasks at the front desk, registers patients, collects co-pays, and guides the patient intake and checkout process to ensure a smooth experience.

You will work with clinical staff to verify insurance, obtain referrals, scan records, and keep PHI secure while answering inquiries and supporting a courteous, efficient office environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical office preferred, especially urology.
• Minimum 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Basic knowledge of CPT coding and ICD-10 coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients and visitors at the front desk.
• Registers new patients and updates demographics.
• Collects co-pays, balances, and insurance information.
• Obtains referrals and authorizations when required.
• Scans and files medical records into patient charts.
• Generates daily batch reports.
• Assists with patient flow and notifies staff of arrivals.
• Schedules follow-up visits and appointments.
• Responds to patient inquiries courteously.
• Maintains stocked front desk supplies.
• Protects PHI and logs off computers when unattended.
• Ensures proper handoffs of tasks.
• Maintains punctual attendance and reliable shifts.
• Supports compliance and confidentiality standards.
