Job summary

Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the Family Practice Center of Westerville. The role greets patients, handles check-in, verifies insurance and collects co-pays, while coordinating with clinicians to ensure smooth visits.

Responsibilities include scheduling, answering inquiries, maintaining records, and protecting patient confidentiality per HIPAA. On-site, first-shift, full-time with benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
• Required: High School diploma or GED; or at least six months customer service or healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients have a positive experience during visits via in-person, telehealth or phone.
• Communicate with clinical staff to meet patient and office needs and foster a positive experience.
• Greet patients and complete check-in; register and verify insurance information.
• Collect copays, deductibles and outstanding balances.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and communicate items at checkout.
• Answer calls and emails; direct inquiries when needed and send appointment reminders.
• Perform clerical tasks like mail, file, scan, schedule, data input, and fax inbox management.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and stay current with regulations.
• Work with patient portal; potential rotation to front office duties.
• Handle referrals and EPIC duties.
