Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates preferred.
• Understanding of medical coding and billing.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, and others.
• Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner and informs on delays.
• Obtains registration data, insurance information, and photo ID.
• Enter/update patient information in the system and collect co-pays when required.
• Verifies insurance and handles charges and patient data with confidentiality.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of patient, staff, and physician information.
• Balance daily charges and safeguard money received.
• Manage patient charts and referrals; send information as requested.
• Assist staff and coordinate provider referrals.
• Ensure lobby is clean and stocked; minimize financial risk.
• Other duties as assigned; safety-sensitive position.
