Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner and informs them of delays.
• Obtains registration data, insurance information, and photo ID at each encounter.
• Enters patient data into the computer system accurately and promptly.
• Verifies insurance and collects co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles per plan.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines and maintains confidentiality of patients and staff information.
• Balances daily charges and safeguards money received.
• Manages patient charts, arranges referrals, and shares records with other entities as needed.
• Assists staff with scheduling and follow-up on provider referrals.
• Keeps lobby clean and stocked with necessary items.
• Works to minimize financial risk and supports auditing for compliance.
• May involve ancillary personnel supervised by professional staff; other duties as assigned.
