Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking a friendly Front Office Specialist to join our patient care team in Charlotte. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, process payments, and schedule follow-up appointments in a fast-paced O&P environment.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, comfortable with computer systems, and a patient-centered approach. Prior receptionist or medical front office experience is preferred, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Talent Sorter assessment may be administered.
• Less than one year of customer service or related experience required.
• Receptionist experience or medical front office preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Patient Reception: Greet and assist patients upon arrival, providing information on wait times.
• Patient Intake: Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in; handle walk-in registrations.
• Financial Transactions: Collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and coinsurance at the front desk.
• Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans.
• Patient Support: Serve as a liaison for clinic services, offering information on patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources.
• Administrative Assistance: Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to obtain necessary patient information.
• Record Maintenance: Ensure accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients.
