Job summary

The YMCA of Central Massachusetts is seeking a Welcome Center Associate to create a safe, welcoming environment and to promote and maintain safety at the Welcome Center and surrounding areas. Reporting to the Membership Director, you will lead exceptional member service and support administrative tasks, sales, and member engagement at the front desk.

This part-time, non-exempt role requires a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Basic understanding of computer and administrative skills.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• ASL proficiency strongly preferred to support communication.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead the culture of exceptional member service.
• Ensure front desk procedures are followed and updated as needed.
• Excel in sales, new member materials, and prospective member engagement.
• Support the Membership Director with administrative duties.
• Attend quarterly staff meetings and participate in association tasks.
• Greet members by name and provide accurate information at the front desk.
• Handle member cancellations and follow up by phone as needed.
• Assist with follow-up for guest passes and online inquiries.
