Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) in Norfolk, VA seeks a Front Desk Specialist to be the initial liaison with guests at Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and Navy Lodge properties. You will manage reservations, check-in/out, payments, and guest requests with professionalism.

You will maintain lobby appearance, operate the PMS and POS, coordinate with staff, handle security of keys and guest records, and ensure compliance with brand standards. Weekend and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• One year of general office clerical experience.
• One year progressively responsible experience related to the position.
• Ability to handle reservations and guest inquiries.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with requests in person or by phone, including reservations, payments, and check-in/check-out.
• Greet and welcome guests, maintaining outstanding guest relations.
• Use PMS to access and modify guest information, reservations and room assignments.
• Process payments and issue receipts; balance accounts at shift end.
• Operate the front desk, multi-line telephone system and POS for services in the lobby.
• Maintain lobby safety, cleanliness and inventory of front desk supplies.
