The purpose of a GUEST SERVICE AGENT is to serve as the primary contact for all guests throughout their stay and to efficiently check guests in and out of the hotel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate the front desk according to standard operating procedures with exceptional guest service.
- Accurately operate reservation, check-in/check-out, and credit card systems following safety and security procedures.
- Check registration cards for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain an accurate cash sheet and balance the cash drawer.
- Operate the switchboard, disperse calls, take messages, and use message lights appropriately.
- Know emergency procedures and respond accordingly.
- Maintain guest confidentiality, such as not announcing room numbers.
- Be knowledgeable about hotel promotions, room rates, amenities, and local area information.
- Complete daily reports and audits as required.
- Keep the lobby and office area clean and organized.
- Set wake-up calls and update room status sheets for housekeeping.
- Handle credit card validation and acceptance.
- Secure the area when leaving the front desk unattended.
- Create incident reports for guest injuries or issues.
- Answer all calls promptly and professionally.
- Record reservations accurately and confirm as needed.
- Resolve guest complaints effectively.
- Maintain punctuality and adhere to work schedules and dress code.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
- One-year college certificate or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer and POS system skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Indoor environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals and typical hotel noise levels. Physical activity includes standing most of the time, lifting up to 15 lbs, and pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
