Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center Careers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations in a busy primary care setting. You will administer injections, assist with EKGs, and help with patient flow, history intake, and vital signs while ensuring quality metrics and audits are completed accurately.

The role requires at least 1 year of MA experience and BLS certification, with preference for EMR/EHR experience and a willingness to travel to other clinic sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant and/or a Medical Assistant Diploma and/or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable of personal computers.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association.
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day operations of the front and back office, ensuring medical assistant tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
• Administers injections and assists with non-invasive and direct patient care procedures such as EKGs, vision and hearing screenings.
• Obtains patient history and vital signs, ensures quality metrics and participates in audits.
• Maintains inventory of medical supplies and ensures equipment is calibrated, charged, cleaned, and stocked.
• Registers patients, updates demographics, and verifies insurance, posting encounter data to funding plans.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation, ensuring cash reports reconcile and deposits are made.
• Prepares for next day clinic by updating charts and screening patients for program eligibility.
• Provides exceptional customer service, greeting customers and addressing concerns.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
