Job summary

CommuniCare Health Centers (Texas) is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations in a primary health care setting. The role includes assisting with injections, EKGs, patient history, vitals, and audit preparation.

The candidate will maintain supplies, register patients, and ensure accurate data posting, with strong emphasis on customer service and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant and/or a Medical Assistant Diploma and/or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable of personal computers.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.
• Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day front and back office operations.
• Administers injections and assists with patient care procedures.
• Obtains patient history, vital signs, and documents quality metrics.
• Maintains inventory and ensures equipment is calibrated and cleaned.
• Registers patients and activates insurance plans; posts encounter data.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation and handles cash securely.
• Prepares for next-day clinic and screens patients for eligibility.
• Provides exceptional customer service and assists other departments.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
