Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in New Jersey is seeking team members for the Meat Department to assist members, weigh, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats. The role supports seafood, rotisserie, prepared foods, and cheeses, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and friendly service.

Employees rotate through duties, maintain clean, well-stocked cases, and follow club policies while delivering a positive member experience. Regular attendance and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience in meat/deli department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinds.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Receives and unpacks meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
