Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Experience in billing, collections, tracing & OS&D preferred.
• Computer skills; proficient in MS Word and Excel required.
• AS400 experience strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and good clerical abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team, with time management.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones with a heavy call volume and direct calls with accuracy
• Maintain count list of items received or shipped and check against bill of lading, recording discrepancies
• Prepare all paperwork and repackaging of all OS&D freight
• Maintain accurate records to report OS&D freight issues daily or weekly to management
• Maintain a clean and organized OS&D area
• Coordinate delivery times with customers for freight delivery
• Identify freight bills requiring special delivery instructions
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding bill of lading and provide proof of delivery
• Address customer complaints concerning billing or services, escalating as needed
• Investigate and respond to inquiries about overages, shortages, and damaged freight
• Verify and process paperwork concerning claims, charges and tracing of freight
• Scan and image bill of lading receipts
• Transfer information from the bill of lading to the bill format for freight movement
• Prepare bills for freight movement with applicable tariffs and charges
• Place shipments on-hand
• Assist with dispatch phones to help customers and drivers
• Regular attendance is required
• Perform other duties as assigned
