Job summary

TMC Transportation, Inc., the nation’s largest employee-owned open-deck transportation company, has an immediate full-time opening for a Customer Service Representative in Des Moines, IA. The role focuses on managing relationships with customers within the designated area by accepting freight, resolving issues, and meeting customer requirements.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7am-4:30pm. Primary duties include developing relationships, booking freight, maintaining productivity goals, and communicating

Qualifications

• Four-year degree, preferably in Transportation and Logistics.
• Transportation, trucking or load planning experience REQUIRED.
• Fluent in keyboard proficiency and 10-key.
• Ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple tasks with accuracy.
• Strong customer solicitation skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with customers.
• Obtain and uphold driver and company productivity goals.
• Review incoming trucks and book freight with customers.
• Maintain and log pre-booked freight pending assignment.
• Contact customers to solicit additional freight and load trucks.
• Research and resolve customer inquiries and problems.
• Communicate with customers, sales, fleet managers and internal staff.
• Participate in quality management and process improvement teams.
• Enter customer data and shipping instructions into a computer system.
