Job summary

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Capacity Strategy Manager to design scalable capacity solutions for freight. You will collaborate with commercial, carrier, and internal teams to develop procurement strategies aligned with customer needs and market conditions.

You will guide award planning, assess performance health, and refine capacity approaches to ensure high‑quality execution. Strong analytics and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of three years in 3PL capacity/carrier account management.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience creating strategic procurement solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging.
• Professional presence with strong influencing skills and relationship building.
• Ability to analyze data to understand business conditions and decide actions.
• Ability to understand daily or hourly freight landscape and prioritize coverage.

Responsibilities

• Capacity Procurement & Solution Design
• Serves as Capacity lead in pre‑RFP planning; curate feasible solutions.
• Identify risks and collaborate with partners to solve problems.
• Post award procurement planning; ensure award matches capacity solution/team.
• Interpret carrier analytics and use market data to guide buying decisions.
• Monitor award health and review against customer scorecards; implement actions.
• Continuous improvement of capacity strategy over award lifecycle.
• Provide day‑to‑day problem resolution and coordinate shipment updates.
• May book freight as business needs dictate.
• Establish effective relationships with stakeholders to enable growth.
• Interact with customers and carriers to review market dynamics and opportunities.
