Job summary

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Capacity Portfolio Representative to blend inside sales, account management, and operations.

You will manage a portfolio of carriers, matching shipments with trucks at the right time and price while delivering excellent service. You will work in a hybrid model—in-office four days a week with one remote day—develop relationships, negotiate capacity, and utilize tech to improve efficiency and carrier satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Ability to build relationships and negotiate with carriers.
• Strong communication and multitasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain carrier relationships through lead generation, cold calling, and referrals.
• Learn carriers’ business goals, preferences, and capabilities to maximize relationships and satisfaction.
• Monitor account activity, identify inactive or underutilized accounts, and reactivate them.
• Leverage automated booking products, carrier website, and mobile apps to enhance carrier satisfaction and efficiency.
• Analyze freight market trends, seasonality, and supply-demand factors for pricing decisions.
• Use capacity analysis and internal costing tools to guide buying and negotiating strategies.
• Post, negotiate, and secure available capacity to meet customer needs.
• Provide outstanding service by addressing carrier issues promptly and implementing effective solutions.
• Review carrier feedback to improve service and resolve payables; suggest payment solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams on shipment updates and problem resolution; ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
• Maintain transit load visibility and reinforce performance expectations; identify root causes and implement fixes.
