Job summary

Knight Transportation in North Phoenix is seeking a Freight Broker to negotiate freight rates and manage carrier relationships within our Logistics Division (3PL & Brokerage). You will respond to capacity needs, optimize lane profitability, and support growth initiatives.

Under close direction, you will analyze market conditions, adjust rates when appropriate, and strive to meet or exceed KPI targets while delivering strong customer and carrier partnerships.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in customer accounts, operations or billing.
• Bachelor's in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiar with TMS and brokerage systems.
• Strong sense of urgency with bias for action.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with proven ability to solicit new customers and meet revenue targets.
• Proficient in AS400 and MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Negotiate freight rates for KNX's Logistics Division; build and optimize carrier partner relationships and respond to capacity requirements.
• Provide recommendations on when to adjust rates on lanes based on market changes.
• Deliver against growth and profitability targets.
• Analyze the freight market to maximize profit and negotiating power per transaction.
• Analyze carriers and lanes by capacity, insurance, price, safety, and service; select best options.
• Negotiate rates and terms with carrier partners and customers; manage the process from buy to delivery.
• Communicate market changes and carrier opportunities to leadership and stakeholders; ensure KPI focus.
