Job summary

Affirm, a remote-first fintech, seeks a Fraud Operations Manager who will oversee disputes, fraud risk, and compliance across multiple pods. You will coach people leaders and ICs, drive performance with key metrics, and shape a strategy to improve efficiency and quality while nurturing an inclusive, high-performance culture.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, mitigate risk, and champion scalable improvements in a fast-growing environment, with a focus on productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of disputes and fraud risk prevention/detection experience in FinTech/tech.
• 5+ years in fraud management or related people-management roles, including leading managers or senior ICs.
• Track record setting strategy and delivering large-scale operational change with measurable impact on efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
• Strong strategic planning, risk management, and prioritization skills balancing short-term delivery with long-term capability building.
• Exceptional executive communication and influence skills to align diverse stakeholders.
• Proven experience leading teams through major change and comfort with ambiguity.
• Experience with AI-driven initiatives (e.g., AI tools, agent assist, or automation) to improve efficiency.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma or data-driven process improvement methods.
• Working knowledge of scripting & querying languages (Python, SQL) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a group of people leaders and ICs across multiple teams, providing feedback and career development.
• Drive team performance using metrics like productivity, quality, customer outcomes, and service levels.
• Foster a high-performing, engaged team environment in a fast-paced, evolving setting.
• Partner with recruiting to hire, onboard, and retain top talent.
• Define and champion an operational strategy and roadmap to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance.
• Identify and implement transformational changes to simplify investigator workflows and reduce waste.
• Ensure accountability for service levels and manage queue health with data-driven burn-down plans.
