Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company seeking a Fraud Operations Manager to lead multiple fraud operations teams across disputes and compliance work. You will develop talent, define strategy, and drive operational excellence to improve productivity and accuracy while fostering belonging.

The role requires 6+ years in fraud and 5+ years in people leadership, plus experience with data-driven improvements and AI-enabled initiatives.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of disputes, fraud risk prevention and detection within FinTech/tech industry.
• 5+ years of fraud management or related people management roles, including leading managers or senior ICs.
• Strong strategic planning, risk management, and prioritization skills with ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term capability building.
• Exceptional executive communication and influence skills for aligning diverse stakeholders.
• Experience leading teams through major change and comfort with ambiguity.
• Experience with AI project-driven initiatives (e.g., AI-enabled tools, agent assist, or automation) to improve efficiency.
• Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement practices, and data-driven methodologies to drive scalable efficiency.
• Working knowledge of scripting & querying languages (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a group of people leaders and ICs across multiple teams/pods, providing feedback, performance management, and career development.
• Define and champion a clear operational strategy and roadmap to improve function, efficiency, quality, and compliance.
• Drive cross-functional alignment and communicate clear team objectives.
• Serve as escalation point for complex issues and research risk events stemming from process breakdowns.
