Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking an Analyst in Financial Planning & Analysis to support executive and finance leadership with advanced financial analyses and strategic insights into the organization’s performance.

You will build financial models, analyze variances, and present findings to business leaders, partnering across functions to identify profitability improvements and automate reporting. A bachelor’s degree in finance or economics and 0–2 years of related experience are typical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
• 0–2 years of related experience in Finance or Business Analysis.
• Experience with data modeling, analysis, and BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements financial models and KPI reports to drive value in the business.
• Analyzes profit & loss statements, explains variances in performance, and monitors actions to ensure delivery of financial commitments.
• Performs trend and sensitivity analysis to evaluate key challenges and opportunities.
• Prepares and participates in financial and operational discussions with business leaders.
• Serves as a business partner with various leaders to drive additional profitability through analysis and reporting.
• Identifies and drives process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad- hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
• Performs customer and product profitability analysis.
• Increases productivity by developing automated reporting and modeling tools.
• Assists in the creation of executive presentations.
• Leads and participates in ad hoc projects assigned by the manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics from an accredited institution and zero (0) to two (2) years of related experience in Finance, Accounting or Business Analysis/Planning. Typically requires experience with data modeling, analysis, and data visualization/business intelligence tools.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel to include VBA, pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Displays project management ability to coordinate tasks, timelines, and resources.
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify and communicate solutions to complex business opportunities in a time- critical environment.
• Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
