Job summary

Elyria Foundry|Hodge Foundry is seeking a Foundry Sales Engineer to drive strategic sales in our metals business, traveling up to 75% to engage customers and learn the casting processes on the floor. This role requires a strong technical background and field-facing experience.

The candidate will analyze market segments, qualify prospects, and develop opportunities while delivering technical assistance and maintaining service excellence across the customer base.

Qualifications

• Engineering/Metallurgical degree or technical school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Foundry Sales and/or engineering experience in a metals industry.
• Experience with No bake and Green Sand-Casting / Iron Casting processes.
• Willingness to be hands-on and service all aspects of customer needs and demands.
• Strategically hunt for new customers that fit our niche.
• Ability to understand the technical needs of the customer is critical.
• Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Strategically analyze market segments for customer potential, focusing on long-term profitability.
• Develop sales opportunities by researching prospects, building relationships and providing technical info.
• Communicate regularly with customers and prospects through onsite visits.
• Advise customers on active requests, lead times, deliveries, quality status and tooling conditions.
• Provide world-class service aligned with a 100-year customer-focused history.
• Stay current on changing market segments and identify trends.
• Maintain and update the sales database.
