Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to join our dock and warehouse team in Missouri. You will safely operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE to load, unload, and move freight, while maintaining accurate documentation and compliant with safety policies.

They require a valid forklift certification, 3+ years of dock experience, and strong attention to detail. The role involves standing for long periods, working nights or weekends, and coordinating with drivers

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Proficient in basic English communication.
• Ability to read labels, barcodes, and freight markings.
• Basic arithmetic skills to verify freight counts and weights.
• Ability to operate MHE and learn basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and yards.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight for accuracy.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and equipment.
