Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and stage freight in a fast-paced dock environment. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient movement of cargo.

The role requires forklift certification, English communication, and 3+ years of dock experience. The position offers a consistent night shift schedule (Sunday-Thursday, 3PM-11PM) and a competitive hourly pay rate of $22–$23.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating equipment) required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings accurately and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and other MHE, with proper safety techniques.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Scan and track freight using handheld devices and company systems.
