Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight in a dock/warehouse setting. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, document cargo, and support drivers while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires 3+ years of dock experience, OSHA awareness, and the ability to learn company systems. Expect a fast-paced environment with multiple shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift certification/licensure required or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to learn basic computer systems and handheld scanners.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices to ensure accuracy.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervisory personnel.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized dock environment and wear PPE as required.
• Work assigned schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
