Position: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff, aiming to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience and a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department personnel, achieving goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
2. Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers, offering product info, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
5. Taking and fulfilling customer orders to satisfaction.
6. Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering stock and supplies to maintain standards.
8. Overseeing food preparation and merchandising of deli items, including entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
9. Ensuring proper display and rotation of food items, following recipes and safety guidelines.
10. Receiving and inspecting merchandise, managing inventory, and processing invoices.
11. Completing paperwork accurately and timely.
12. Handling cash register transactions and ensuring proper pricing and signage.
13. Maintaining cleanliness and safety in all work areas.
14. Performing additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a food environment
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Serv-Safe certification preferred
• Passion for food and creativity

Skills and Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Reaching, bending, and working in coolers/freezers
• Standing for long periods and manual dexterity for equipment use
