Job Description:

Additionally, we are a major distributor of gasoline, distillates, residual oil, and renewable fuels to wholesalers, retailers, and commercial customers in New England and New York.

Essential Job Function:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Directing department personnel, achieving department goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
  2. Onboarding and coaching new team members.
  3. Scheduling staff shifts.
  4. Engaging with customers with friendly greetings, offering product information, suggesting purchases, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
  5. Taking customer orders, ensuring timely completion and satisfaction.
  6. Following all safety and sanitation guidelines and policies.
  7. Ordering products and supplies to maintain stock and merchandising standards.
  8. Overseeing preparation and merchandising of deli/food service items, including various hot and cold foods.
  9. Displaying products per guidelines, following recipes accurately, and rotating items for quality and safety.
  10. Receiving merchandise, auditing invoices, and organizing stock.
  11. Conducting periodic inventory counts and completing paperwork accurately.
  12. Processing transactions, giving change, and handling refunds.
  13. Ensuring correct pricing, signage, and product placement.
  14. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of counters, prep areas, and storage.
  15. Ensuring safety equipment and procedures are used properly by staff.
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • At least two years of experience in a fresh foods environment, preferably in management.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and assist other locations.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred.
  • Interest in learning new products and recipes.
  • Passion for foods and creativity.
  • Helpful, tactful, courteous, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems, scales, and signage.
  • Ability to read labels, signage, and policies.
  • Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Reaching, bending, working in coolers/freezers, and standing for long periods.
  • Dexterity to operate equipment like knives, slicers, ovens, and fryers.
