Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Food Service Aide to support inpatient care with meal preparation, menu assistance, and sanitation. This per diem role offers weekend coverage with a schedule from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm.

You will prepare meals, accommodate dietary restrictions, and help maintain patient satisfaction while following HACCP and infection control guidelines. Previous healthcare/food service experience is a plus.

Schedule: Per Diem 10:30 am - 7:00 pm week day and weekend coverage needed

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

• Complete all procedures scheduled during the shift without compromising the quality of work


• Maintain compliance to regulatory requirements for safe food handling, by following sanitation, infection control, risk management guidelines and HACCP plan.


• Completes cleaning duties, pulling trash, sweeping, mopping


• Assist patients in completing menu selections, offering alternative menu in accordance with food allergies, food sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.


• Update and validate diet changes in the patient diet management system, prints and distributes reports, tallies, menus and meal tickets.


• Stock nourishment rooms and assist with kitchen stocking


• Perform cafeteria duties as assigned including serving, grilling, stocking, cleaning and cash handling.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older


• Food Handlers Card

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling


• Healthcare/restaurant experience


• Commitment to customer service


• Willingness to perform routine tasks and effectively work alongside the culinary team and leaders
