Job summary

Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is seeking a Food Service Aide for PRN/Per-diem shifts with compensation of $18.00/hr. The role supports inpatient rehabilitation patients through meal preparation, dietary accommodations, and safe food handling.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Food Handlers Card.
• Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling (preferred).
• Healthcare/restaurant experience (preferred).
• Commitment to customer service (preferred).
• Willingness to perform routine tasks and work with the culinary team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food in a timely and efficient manner.
• Operate equipment and perform related duties safely.
• Complete all procedures scheduled during the shift without compromising quality.
• Maintain compliance with sanitation and HACCP guidelines.
• Complete cleaning tasks including trash removal, sweeping and mopping.
• Assist patients with menu selections and accommodate dietary needs.
• Update diet changes in the patient diet management system and distribute reports.
• Stock nourishment rooms and assist with kitchen stocking.
• Perform cafeteria duties including serving, grilling, stocking, cleaning and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food in a timely and efficient manner
• Operate equipment and perform related duties in a safe manner
• Complete all procedures scheduled during the shift without compromising the quality of work
• Maintain compliance to regulatory requirements for safe food handling, by following sanitation, infection control, risk management guidelines and HACCP plan.
• Completes cleaning duties, pulling trash, sweeping, mopping
• Assist patients in completing menu selections, offering alternative menu in accordance with food allergies, food sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
• Update and validate diet changes in the patient diet management system, prints and distributes reports, tallies, menus and meal tickets.
• Stock nourishment rooms and assist with kitchen stocking
• Perform cafeteria duties as assigned including serving, grilling, stocking, cleaning and cash handling.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Food Handlers Card

• Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling
• Healthcare/restaurant experience
• Commitment to customer service
• Willingness to perform routine tasks and effectively work alongside the culinary team and leaders
