Job summary

Levity Live, LLC is seeking a Food & Drink Runner for the Chicago Improv. You will support food and beverage service, assist bartenders and servers, and help maintain a smooth show-floor operation.

The role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and quick, courteous guest interactions, with availability Thursday through Sunday and a tipped compensation structure.

Qualifications

• Fast-paced environment with teamwork focus.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience in restaurants or clubs.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD certificates.

• Able to stand/walk 8–10 hours.
• Thursday–Sunday availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospitality and excellent guest service.
• Ensure memorable experience through attentive service.
• Use courteous phrases like yes, please, and my pleasure.
• Coordinate with bartenders, servers to set up stations.
• Verify guests are of legal drinking age.
• Expo food, drinks and items per tickets simultaneously.
• Listen to guest needs and retrieve items quickly.
• Inform management about any transportation needs due to alcohol.
• Maintain showroom and clear as needed.
• Suggest improvements when service breaks down.

The Chicago Improv is currently seeking Food & Drink Runners to join the team. But first, let's make sure you can perform the duties below:

Job Duties:

• Have a passion for true hospitality!
• Must love taking care of all guests! We strive to create a memorable experience for all patrons, so top-notch customer service is a must.
• Say yes, thank you, my pleasure, or allow me 1000 times per shift!
• Partner with bartenders, servers, and anyone else to ensure service stations are set-up, maintained, and broken down correctly.
• Make sure anyone who is ordering alcohol is old enough to legally partake.
• Expo food, drinks, and other items as indicated by the ticket (usually all at the same time)!
• Listen to guest needs and quickly obtain what is needed.
• Be attentive to whether a guest needs to find transportation home due to alcohol intake and inform appropriate members of management.
• Maintain the showroom and clear as needed.
• Give us suggestions on how to enhance service whenever a breakdown is identified, we want to hear from you frequently!

Minimum Qualifications:

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork!
• Friendly, outgoing, and excellent communication skills!
• Ability to work flexible hours, especially nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 or more years of experience in restaurants or clubs.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD Certificate ensuring compliance with any county or state requirements.
• Consistently demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Can stand and or walk for an 8-10-hour shift.
• Must have Thursday- Sunday availability

This is a tipped position.
