Job summary

The Brooklyn Improv is seeking outgoing Food and Drink Runners to join our team in New York. You will partner with bartenders and servers to ensure stations are set up, maintained, and cleared while ensuring guests receive timely service.

Applicants should be friendly, communicative, and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A high school diploma and at least 1 year in food service, plus ServSafe or TIPS/LEAD certification, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Fast-paced hospitality experience and teamwork required.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

• 1+ year experience in restaurants or clubs.
• ServSafe or TIPS/LEAD certificates required.

• Ability to stand/walk 8-10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests and ensure hospitality; deliver smooth service.
• Coordinate with bartenders, servers, and staff for setup, maintenance and breakdown.
• Verify age for alcohol service in compliance with laws.
• Expo food, drinks and items as indicated by tickets; coordinate timing with team.
• Listen to guest needs and obtain what is required promptly.
• Monitor showroom and clear tables and stations as needed.
• Suggest improvements when service breakdowns occur and report to management.

The Brooklyn Improv is looking for outgoing and energetic Food and Drink Runners to join the team. Before you apply, check out the job duties below:

• Have a passion for true hospitality!
• Must love taking care of all guests! We strive to create a memorable experience for all patrons, so top-notch customer service is a must.
• Say yes, thank you, my pleasure, or allow me 1000 times per shift!
• Partner with bartenders, servers, and anyone else to ensure service stations are set-up, maintained, and broken down correctly.
• Make sure anyone who is ordering alcohol is old enough to legally partake.
• Expo food, drinks, and other items as indicated by the ticket (usually all at the same time)!
• Listen to guest needs and quickly obtain what is needed.
• Be attentive to whether a guest needs to find transportation home due to alcohol intake and inform appropriate members of management.
• Maintain the showroom and clear as needed.
• Give us suggestions on how to enhance service whenever a breakdown is identified, we want to hear from you frequently!

Requirements:

• High school diploma, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 or more years of experience in restaurants or clubs.
