Job summary

The Raleigh Improv is seeking Food & Drink Runners to join the team. If you love hospitality and being part of a lively venue, this role puts you at the center of guest experience.

You’ll work with bartenders and servers to ensure stations are ready, check IDs for alcohol, and help expo orders so items arrive together. Flexibility is required for nights, weekends and holidays, with a focus on guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Fast-paced environment with teamwork emphasis.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years in restaurants or clubs.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS/LEAD certification where required.

• Able to stand/walk 8-10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospitality to guests.
• Deliver top-notch customer service.
• Say yes, thank you, my pleasure, or allow me 1000 times per shift.
• Coordinate with bartenders and servers to maintain service stations.
• Verify age for alcohol service.
• Expo food, drinks, and items per ticket, usually simultaneously.
• Listen to guest needs and retrieve items quickly.
• Assist guests with transportation options if alcohol is involved.
• Maintain showroom and clear as needed.
• Suggest service improvements when issues arise.

The Raleigh Improv is currently seeking Food & Drink Runners to join the team. But first, let’s make sure you can perform the duties below:

Job Duties:

• Have a passion for true hospitality!
• Must love taking care of all guests! We strive to create a memorable experience for all patrons, so top-notch customer service is a must.
• Say yes, thank you, my pleasure, or allow me 1000 times per shift!
• Partner with bartenders, servers, and anyone else to ensure service stations are set-up, maintained, and broken down correctly.
• Make sure anyone who is ordering alcohol is old enough to legally partake.
• Expo food, drinks, and other items as indicated by the ticket (usually all at the same time)!
• Listen to guest needs and quickly obtain what is needed.
• Be attentive to whether a guest needs to find transportation home due to alcohol intake and inform appropriate members of management.
• Maintain the showroom and clear as needed.
• Give us suggestions on how to enhance service whenever a breakdown is identified, we want to hear from you frequently!

Minimum Qualifications:

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork!
• Friendly, outgoing, and excellent communication skills!
• Ability to work flexible hours, especially nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 or more years of experience in restaurants or clubs.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD Certificate ensuring compliance with any county or state requirements.
• Consistently demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Can stand and or walk for an 8-10-hour shift.
