Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a fluids design engineer to craft the gas systems for the Lunar Transfer Stage spacecraft. The role covers the full life cycle from definition and interfaces to hardware launch and operation, with emphasis on gas distribution and RCS assemblies.

The successful candidate will understand fluid dynamics, compressible flow for space vehicles, and will work under a lead engineer focused on gas systems. Visa and security eligibility apply per U.S. regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years in aerospace fluid or mechanical systems design with testing.
  • Hands-on experience building/testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components.
  • Experience with Simulink, Matlab, Thermal Desktop, EES, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in Creo and 3D CAD; GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of fluid components: valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tubing, fittings.

Responsibilities

  • Fluids sub-assembly design and development, CAD design, trade studies, procurement, and test data analysis.
  • Create P&IDs and diagrams using AutoCAD; maintain test plans for subsystems.
  • Develop interface definitions between fluid systems and other subsystems.
  • Design and analyze custom fluid/thermal/structural components.
  • Verify components per company standards and coordinate procurement.
  • Manage hardware cost and schedule for the sub-assembly.
